What is the Art of Love?
The Art of Love is a key fundraiser for CES. In years past, it has been a one-night-only event, but this year, we are running the auction entirely online for 6 whole weeks! Money raised supports CES in their mission of empowering and enriching the lives of adults with disabilities. CES Jackson provides vocational training, daytime programming, recreational opportunities, and residential care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. To provide these critical services for our community, CES needs to raise approximately $775,000 each year through donations and grants.
23% of CES clients have no family to support them.
38% of our clients need 24/7 care, 365 days a year.
We rely on our staff to ensure our clients maintain their dignity and vitality. Due to rising costs for our staff and our clients, and ongoing state budget cuts, this year’s fundraiser will be the most important yet. This is why we have a fundraising goal of $80,000 for this year's Art of Love. We look forward to celebrating CES!
Where Did the Art of Love Originate?
The Art of Love Auction was the brainchild of our fearless event chair, Dawn Hummel, who saw a great need being unmet when it came to our community members with developmental disabilities. To help CES reach their significant fundraising goals, she mixed her love for the art world with her passion for empowering the disability community. In her words, Art of Love is so much more than a fundraiser, it's a LOVE PARTY! Now, with 5 of these fundraisers under her belt and hundreds of thousands of dollars raised, she will lead us in our first ever VIRTUAL Art of Love auction.
All of the money raised during this giving season will contribute to our annual fundraising need of $775,000. 8 vases from 8 of our beloved artists are available to bid on from NOW until September 12th at www.ces-usa.com/art-of-love! We encourage early bidding, and are hosting our September 12th reception as more of a small celebration of what our donors were able to accomplish! If you need some guidance on how to get started, you can follow the step by step instructions below.
Step 1: Let's Get Started
To get started, here are a few helpful things to make note of. Our Art of Love website can be located at www.ces-usa.com/art-of-love. This will be the hub of all things Art of Love! Here, you will be able to learn more about the event, learn more about CES's dire fundraising needs, meet the artists, view the vases, and place your bids! Step 2: Meet the Artists
We are so grateful for all of our participating artists and can't wait to share with you what each of them have created for our 2023 Art of Love Virtual Auction. This year we have vases by Tenley Thompson, Kathryn Mapes Turner, Carrie Wild, Anika Youcha, Shannon Marie Schacht, Lyn St. Claire, Sonia Reid, and new artist Caleb Meyer. To view various angles of each vase, click on the artist's photo and you will be able to scroll to the right.
Step 3: Place your Bids
After you have met the artists, explored their vases, and chosen your favorite, it is time to place your bid! To do this, you will click on the button that says "Bid on a Vase"
This will redirect you to our Virtual Auction Platform. The link will look like this: https://one.bidpal.net/artoflove/search/vase
The page will look like this:
From here, you will be able to click on whichever vase you wish to bid on. This will open up a side panel that will share the name of the vase, name of the artist, and the artist bio. You will also see 3 buttons titled "Bid", "Watch", and "Buy Now". If you would like to purchase the vase outright, you can do so for $20,000.
Clicking on any of these 3 options will prompt you to Sign In to One Cause. You can select whether you would like to sign in using your email, Facebook, or Google account. This will bring you to a sign up sheet where you will be prompted to fill in some basic information. After this is complete, it will ask you to fill in your credit card information.
After this step, you will be able to submit your bid! The winner of the vase will be announced on September 13th, 2023!
